Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) called on Elon Musk to remove graphic videos of Charlie Kirk’s assassination from his platform X, Wednesday.

In a social media post addressed to Musk, as well as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and the platform TikTok, the congresswoman called for the “horrifying videos” to be taken offline.

“I am calling on @elonmusk, @finkd, and @tiktok_us to remove the horrifying videos of Charlie Kirk’s murder. He has a family, young children, and no one should be forced to relive this tragedy online,” wrote Luna. “These are not the only graphic videos of horrifying murders circulating— at some point, social media begins to desensitize humanity. We must still value life. Please take them down.”

Luna’s post received support from many social media users, including Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who replied, “Thank you!!! I agree completely! I NEVER want to see that again!! I hate that I saw it at all.”

Others, however, criticized the call for censorship.

Videos and photos of the shooting at Utah Valley University, which left Kirk fatally injured, went viral on social media, Wednesday.

In the graphic videos, Kirk could be seen being hit by a bullet in the neck before collapsing to the floor.

Kirk was pronounced dead after the attack, with the suspect still at large.

“The FBI is working alongside our local and state law enforcement partners in Utah to fully investigate and seek justice in the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University,” said the FBI in a statement. “Anyone with information, photos, and video from the incident can help the FBI identity more answers by sharing the files [with us].”
