Round Top Shopping Tips With Audrey Scheck Design

Date:

One of Texas’s tiny towns, Round Top, is hosting its annual spring Antique Fair from March 22nd to April 5th. Local designer, Audrey Scheck, stopped by Studio 512 to tell us more about why she loves this event, and to offer some tips for shoppers.

“Nestled in the heart of Texas with a population around 90, Round Top may be small, but it has made a big name for itself as a must-visit destination for vintage and antique enthusiasts. Twice a year, during spring and fall (and now a short period in winter), this quaint town transforms into a bustling hub as the Round Top Antiques Fair takes center stage. The show, spanning an impressive 11 miles, attracts hundreds of thousands of shoppers from across the country and beyond, eager to explore an array of unique treasures, indulge in delicious food, and soak up the lively atmosphere.

“The spring show is here again, running from March 20th to April 5th, and promises something for everyone — from the seasoned collector to the casual shopper. Marburger Farms, a crowd favorite, will be open from March 25th to 29th, with tickets available online. Additionally, many shows, such as Blue Hills, Market Hill, The Compound, Horseshoe, and Excess I & II, are free of charge, making it a truly inclusive experience for all.

“Attending the Round Top Antiques Fair is not only a chance for us to scout for unique pieces, but also an opportunity to collaborate with some of the most coveted antique dealers in the country. At Round Top, we have the privilege of incorporating vintage and antique pieces into our designs. It’s always exciting to find unexpected treasures that make a lasting impact in our projects.

As design trends evolve, Audrey highlights a few that are currently making waves:

  • Silver accents and hardware: “A sleek, timeless touch.”
  • Pattern drenching: “Bold patterns making a strong statement.”
  • Western Americana: “A nod to rugged charm and heritage.”
  • Saturated colors: “Deep, vibrant hues bringing spaces to life.”
  • Timeless materials: “Enduring elegance through high-quality finishes.”

“If you can’t make it to this spring’s show, don’t fret — the next show is in October. Mark your calendar and start planning your trip to experience the magic of this iconic event. For insider tips on where to stay, eat, and shop, be sure to check out my guide online.
