Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville offered some dating advice to young progressives following a bride on the Netflix dating show Love Is Blind leaving her groom at the altar over politics.

The the season finale of Love Is Blind, Sara Carton told partner Ben Mezzenga that she couldn’t marry him because they weren’t on the same “wavelength.” She later explained the decision came down to things such as his church and lack of opinion on the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I remember I asked him about Black Lives Matter,” Carton said. “And I’m no expert. But when I asked him about it, he’s like, ‘I guess I never really thought too much about it.’ That affected me!” Carton said.

Carville told young liberals to drop the “preening and moral superiority.”

“Get over your preening and your moral superiority,” he told Fox News Digital. “And the more pragmatic in how you approach life, you’ll end up being a lot happier, and you’ll actually win an election. And therefore, you can actually do things and you could do some of the things that you want, because if you lose, it doesn’t do any good. It’s about nothing. That’s what I would tell them.

Carville has a unique perspective on politics and marriage as he’s been married to GOP consultant Mary Matalin for more than 30 years.

The once-advisor to former President Bill Clinton said he and his wife don’t discuss politics all that much.

Another piece of advice Carville humorously offered was to not limit your dating pool if you’re “not good looking enough,” a lesson he joked he’d learned early on.

“In my case, I wasn’t good-looking enough. I had to broaden the base, okay. I just couldn’t concentrate on Democratic women. I mean, I needed love,” he said. “I think it was Woody Allen that said the good thing about being bisexual, it doubles your chances of getting a date. Well, I couldn’t go- I wasn’t that! I couldn’t get that far so I decided ‘Well, I’ll start dating Republicans. That’ll double my chances to get a date, you know.’ Some of it is just, you know, self-preservation.”
